RambleCam
I’m building RambleCam as a simpler way to record a walkthrough, share it and discuss it without arranging another meeting. It’s getting close to launch.

Why I’m building it
Showing a problem or walking through an idea can be clearer than writing a long message. I wanted a simpler alternative to Loom that makes that kind of communication easy, with a place for recordings and the discussion around them.
The product
RambleCam brings recording, sharing and a web video library together. The work covers uploads, playback, comments and finding useful moments through transcripts.
The original recorder was a Chrome extension. I’m developing a native macOS recorder as the flagship client, with the remaining media and release work still under way.
How it’s built
The native recorder uses Swift and SwiftUI. The dashboard uses React, TypeScript and TanStack Start, while the public website uses Next.js.
The media pipeline uses Cloudflare R2 for storage and FFmpeg for processing. The earlier backend uses Express, Neon PostgreSQL and Inngest; a Convex replacement is in development, starting with authentication, workspaces and recording metadata. The migration and native recorder are ongoing work rather than a completed cutover.
